Engineered Specialty Fabrics
ESF Technology
Engineered Specialty Fabrics or ESF are scrim fabrics designed for reinforcing various composite structures. Through a proprietary process, we create scrims that reinforce load requirements off the 0-90 degree axis. In fact, ADFORS is the world-exclusive provider of off-angle scrims. This variation in geometry allows us to construct scrims that not only increase durability and off-load line strength in your product, but can also differentiate them visually.
ESF scrims use a variety of yarns including: Glass, Polyester, Aramid, Carbon, Dyneema®, PBI Zylon®, Spectra®, Vectran® and Innegra™
Fabric designs include:
- Off-angle scrims (XP family)
- Off-angle carbon fiber scrims (XPC family)
- Warp only scrims (XP or XPC family)
- Uni-directional fabrics (XP and XPC family)
- Carrier scrims
Popular applications include recreational boards such as SUPs, surf boards, skis and snow boards.
